Why Lyrata
Lyrata Created the SmartSoil System
The Next Global Gold-Standard in Indoor Farming Grow-Media
Our Patent Pending Approach Cuts Emissions Up to 65X Than Rockwool Grow-Media

Rather than Mining Rocks
Lyrata sources biopolymers created through the fermentation of crops, such as corn. Depending on the crop and use case, we coat these biopolymers with organic compounds to help increase plant yields using our proprietary coating technologies.

Rather than Melting Rocks at 1500C
Lyrata manufactures SmartSoil using biopolymers that melt at lower temperatures and can be molded into specific shapes. This results in significantly lower energy use during manufacturing. Check out our SmartSoil being
3D-printed in action.

Rather than ship to a large, distant, and complex recycling facility or landfill
Lyrata's patent-pending SmartSoil technology can be recycled on-site using simple hand-washing or using our proprietary on-site cleaning machines for commercial users. Depending on the biopolymer used and the type of crop grown, SmartSoil can last anywhere between 2 and 10 crop cycles.

Rather than grow a small subset of crops and harm the environment
Lyrata's patent-pending SmartSoil technology enables us to efficiently grow a wider range of crops, leveraging our unique expertise in materials science and plant sciences. Additionally, we engineer not only for plants in mind but also for the environment, by selecting and designing biopolymers that can be easily reused and then biodegraded at the end of their use.
