COMMERCIAL SOLUTIONS

Lyrata's SmartSoil Systems for Commercial Use are a combination of proprietary growing processes, AI tools (LyrataGPT), and SmartSoil designs, creating commercial-level grow-media systems that are more operationally efficient, higher yielding, and better for the environment than our competitors.

Our proof?

  • 3 Patents Filed...many more to come.

  • Over +$1.5M in Research and Development Funding to date.

  • Over 50 Engineers and Scientists Contributing to our Know-How from Canada's Top University.

  • 3 Pilot Scale Farms in Toronto Producing Major Hydroponic Crops at Scale at a Lower Carbon Footprint than Our Competitors.

UTSG Pilot Farm

Our first pilot-scale facility was located at the University of Toronto St. George Campus (UTSG) between 2022 and 2024. This facility was built to supply the UTSG campus with over 50% of its monthly lettuce supply. Our proprietary SmartSoil System was developed and iterated here to create a lettuce-growing system that is up to 8 times less carbon-intensive than industry-standard greenhouse systems.

Michelin-Star Casa Loma Farm

Our second pilot-scale facility is located at the famous Casa Loma Castle, in Partnership with Liberty Entertainment Group, to produce herbs and floriculture for its Michelin-starred restaurant, Don Alfonso, and Bluebloods Steakhouse. This facility is designed for the development and showcase of SmartSoil Systems, specifically tailored to growing Michelin-worthy herbs (such as basil, parsley, thyme, and rosemary), as well as flowering crops like edible flowers. This facility was built in 2023 and is planned to operate until 2028, with support from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada's (AAFC) Agriculture Clean Technology (ACT) Program.

UTSC Pilot Scale Farm

Our third pilot-scale facility was built at the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus (UTSC). This facility was built to produce up to 100% of the UTSC's Harmony Commons Dining Hall's lettuce consumption. The Harmony Commons Dining Hall serves students, dorm residents, and staff at UTSC. Additionally, the dining hall serves Olympic athletes and teams that train at the Toronto PanAm Centre, located next door to the Harmony Commons Dining Hall. This facility was built in 2023 and is planned to operate until 2028 with the support of the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness (OMAFA) as part of their Sustainable Canadian Agriculture Partnership (SCAP) Program.
